Just because you carry it well doesn’t mean it’s not heavy

Your history, experiences, and situations have shaped who you are today. You’ve had to adapt and adjust by keeping quiet, by not having needs, or overcompensating with success or high achievements. Seeking approval, becoming self-critical or people-pleasing is the armor you wear to survive. We want to understand, identify, and help you change the patterns that are keeping you from living authentically.

We help you find freedom from burdens that aren’t yours to bear.

Who We Are

Why Work With Cedar Psychology

Esther Park, Psy.D

Clinical Psychologist Clinic Founder

We believe therapy should be safe, open, and hopeful; a place where you can experience all versions of yourself authentically and wholly.

Our mission is simple: to help you thrive in every aspect of your life – at work, in your relationships, with your children, family, and in your marriage.

The work we do isn’t about quick fixes or temporary solutions. By facing the parts of yourself and your life that have been too overwhelming to confront, you’ll experience a newfound sense of freedom and growth. Therapy isn’t just about healing for yourself; it’s about making a positive impact on future generations.

We specialize in working with high-functioning adults & teens who are committed to personal growth and meaningful change. Whether you’re a parent striving to create a better family dynamic, a teen seeking more than academic success, or an adult feeling lost despite outward success, we are here to support you on your journey.

Together, we’ll rewrite your story, leaving a legacy of transformation for generations to come.

Reclaim the part of you that makes you feel alive.

Guiding Principles

Vulnerability

In order to grow, we need to be vulnerable and brave enough to look at the hidden parts of ourselves that are keeping us from fully living.

Hope

Hope helps you see a future filled with possibility and change, where transformation is not just a distant dream but a tangible reality

Honesty

Honesty is a skill that is highly valued, but rarely taught. We help find the courage to be honest with yourself and others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Browse the answers to some of the most common questions we receive. Still have questions? Contact us.

We are an out-of-network and fee-for-service group therapy practice based in Englewood, Colorado. This means that we are not on any insurance panels and patients are expected to pay for each service upfront at the beginning of their appointment and may request a monthly superbill. A superbill is a detailed receipt which patients themselves can submit directly to
their insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. The benefits vary and are dependent on the insurance provider, their diagnosis, and patients may receive partial or full reimbursement.

You can also use Mentaya to submit out-of-network claims. Mentaya can verify your out-of-network benefits and file the reimbursement paperwork for you. Using Mentaya’s platform is completely optional.

There are several reasons why Cedar Psychology is not on insurance panels.

  1. Insurance companies are not mental health care professionals, but being on insurance panels involves allowing them to control treatment decisions that can be more harmful to the patient.
  2. There are significant privacy concerns. Insurance companies require a diagnosis and that no longer is private and your diagnosis and treatment becomes a part of your permanent medical record. This information can also affect access to competitive life insurance rates, among other things.
  3. Insurance companies have the power to limit/restrict the number and frequency of sessions without mental health knowledge on what it is that you actually need.
  4. Insurance companies may also ask for more detailed information about your
treatment including personal information, treatment plans, and session notes.

Our session fees vary by clinician and type of session. We offer a free initial 15-minute phone consultation.

Session fees are as follows:

  • Individual Therapy:
    • 45-minuteTherapy with Masters Level Clinician: $190
    • 45-minuteTherapy with Doctoral Level Clinician: $220
    • Individual 45-minute Therapy with Director of Clinic, Dr. Park: $260
    • Individual Psychoanalysis with Dr. Park: $260, but please speak with Dr. Park about details concerning fee and structure of psychoanalysis
  • Assessment:
    • Adult Attachment Projective Assessment, Interview, and Feedback with Dr. Park: $600
Any appointment you make with us is specifically set aside for you. We ask that you please cancel appointments 48-hours before your appointment if you are unable to make it. Any appointments cancelled after the 48-hour period will be charged the full session fee and insurance companies do not reimburse for cancelled or missed sessions. Additionally, if you have not arrived within the first 15 minutes of your scheduled appointment, the session may be cancelled and billed as a no-show. It is also important to note that sessions that begin late will generally end at the scheduled time.
Information shared in sessions are protected by confidentiality law. All medical records are kept private according to HIPAA regulations and no information will be shared with anyone without your prior written consent. However, by law, there are certain limits to confidentiality. If our clinicians have concern for immediate danger to the patient or other individuals, we are required to break confidentiality. Additionally, if the clinicians are informed of minors in abusive situations, or are notified of elder abuse, dependent adult abuse – these are situations, required by law, that need to be reported.
